Comparative Study between Indirect Power Control and Sliding Mode Control with SVPWM for DFIG Driven by Wind Turbine
Abstract
We present, in this paper, a theoretical description on double-fed induction generator (DFIG) with wind turbine, and its control by two methods; indirect power control (IDPC) and sliding mode control (SMC) with Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) technique to control the inverter. Simulation experiments are done under MATLAB/Simulink. After the results obtained, SMC has lower Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) compared to IDPC. In addition, the control system using SMC shows more stability and has low ripples for both active and reactive powers.
