الملخّص
This study investigates the influence of a glass barrier on the flashover voltage of high-voltage insulators under alternating current (AC) conditions. Experimental tests were conducted using a flat glass model that simulates a high-voltage insulator in a controlled laboratory environment. A comprehensive series of tests was carried out by varying the position of the barrier relative to the high-voltage electrode. The results demonstrate that the presence of a glass barrier significantly increases the flashover voltage, with a steady rise observed as the barrier moves closer to the high-voltage electrode, reaching up to a 52% increase when in direct contact. The effect of the barrier on the leakage current was also investigated. While the leakage current remains generally stable at constant applied voltage regardless of the barrier's position, a notable reduction of approximately 43% was recorded when the barrier was in direct contact with the high-voltage electrode, compared to the configuration without a barrier. In contrast, the leakage current increases proportionally with the applied voltage. The results highlight the pivotal influence of the glass barrier’s positioning on the dielectric strength of high-voltage insulators, offering valuable guidance for the development of more efficient insulation systems.
