الملخّص
In recent years, magnetocaloric effect has emerged as a promising alternative to conventional gas-compression techniques for hydrogen liquefaction, offering substantial improvements in both energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. This review provides a comprehensive synthesis of the current state of research and development in magnetocaloric hydrogen liquefiers. Critical aspects are examined, including the selection and characterization of magnetocaloric materials, the design and performance of existing prototypes and thermodynamic modeling of cooling cycles. Finally, the main research gaps are highlighted, and research directions for future investigations have been also proposed.
